At MAXIM Philippines, we only use the best technologies to perform Follicular Unit Excision/Extraction (FUE). These include the WAW FUE, Ellis FUE, and Sapphire FUE.

WIRELESS WAW FUE SYSTEM

The WAW FUE System has the lowest transection rate and is the most-preferred FUE system by our hair transplant and plastic surgeons. It is ideal for all types of hair including curly and wavy hair which is common in the Philippines and Asia.

What is the WIRELESS WAW FUE System?

The WAW FUE System was created by Dr. Jean Devroye by formulating a device that consists of two punches in one. This is called a Hybrid Trumpet punch and it could cut the skin at low speeds yet dissect the graft.

The first punch is a flat external punch with a square-shaped border sharp enough to cut the scalp under pressure at low velocity. The second punch is a smooth internal punch that dissects the graft forward without damaging or cutting the hair follicle (transection). This creates a smooth exit for the hair follicle while angling the sharp portions of the punch away from the follicle itself. As such, this system is able to closely imitate the natural shape of follicular units while maintaining the quality of harvested follicles to create a graft with an increased rate of survival.

How does the WIRELESS WAW FUE System work?

The punch of the WAW FUE is powered by an oscillating motor which reduces the amount of time the procedure takes.

For the newer commercial models, the WAW FUE system offers wireless control of the three basic dials to achieve optimum results: the first dial for adjusting angle or arc of oscillation; the second dial for altering the speed of oscillation, and the third dial enhances the initial speed of the punch. This allows your hair transplant clinician to have greater control over the process and allows them to use their skills to their absolute fullest.

The Wireless WAW FUE system also provides beneficial scoring counting that can be restarted at any time. This means you as the patient can see how many grafts have been removed which directly translates to the cost of the procedure.

The ultimate goal of the system is to  produce FUE grafts similar to that of FUT grafts and obtain similar results without all the drawbacks of FUT such as a linear scar.

The advantage of a wireless system is to enable the surgeon and his/her team maneuver around the patient’s head without hindrance.

Why choose the Wireless WAW FUE System?

  • null
    Lower Transection Rate

The transection rate of the WAW FUE system ranges between 3 to 8% with an average of 4%—the lowest of all systems made possible through the Hybrid Tornado punch.

  • null
    Diminished Scars

WAW FUE incisions are 0.8 to 0.9 millimeters long. The tiny cuts paired with the smooth inner edge allows for a much faster healing process and elimination of all visible scarring.

  • null
    Fewer Missing Grafts

The Hybrid Tornado punch prevents the problem of dull punches burying grafts and sharp punches transecting them. As such, the WAW FUE system significantly reduces the rate of missing grafts.

  • null
    Protection for Grafts

The WAW FUE system makes it much easier to remove the graft which promotes thicker, more natural hair growth and prevents infections and scarring.

ELLIS FUE SYSTEM

The Ellis FUE system is another preferred system by many of our doctors.

What is the Ellis FUE System?

The Ellis FUE system is a product of Ellis Instruments, Inc., created by Chuck and Andy Ellis wherein both individuals have more than thirty years of experience in the fields of hair restoration and cosmetic surgery. The Ellis FUE system is known for being an extremely accurate FUE harvesting system due to its hand engine, titanium-tipped punches, variable speed console, on/off foot pedal, handpiece stand, and digital RPM read-out.

How does the Ellis FUE System work?

With the Ellis FUE system, each punch is equipped with an internal bevel that protects the hair follicle from being damaged as the punch advances. When used with adapter collets, it also allows us to have precise depth control.

The design of the system also makes the work easier for our doctors. Because the Ellis FUE system is light, our doctors experience much reduction in hand fatigue thereby lessening the possibility of errors. The device also has magnifying headlamps that allows for higher visibility and better precision. This is perfect for clients who would need a large number of grafts harvested in a short period of time.

Why choose the Ellis FUE System?

  • null
    Efficient Process

Procedures done using the Ellis FUE System are known for their speed and surgical efficiency which means you spend less time in the chair.

  • null
    Accurate Harvesting

The increased accuracy brought about by the Ellis FUE system means that less stress is applied on your skin

  • null
Can Accommodate Large Number of Grafts

Because of its convenient usage, doctors prefer this for collecting a large number of grafts which is perfect for patients experiencing severe hair loss.

SAPPHIRE FUE

The Sapphire FUE System is one preferred by our international doctors, particularly those in Istanbul, Turkey

What is the Sapphire FUE?

From the name itself, a Sapphire FUE is a type of blade for making recipient sites that is made from sapphire stones instead of traditional steel-cut blades, needles, or spear tips. These lab-created synthetic sapphires are known for their durability and sharpness thereby providing exquisite results.

How does the Sapphire FUE System work?

The Sapphire FUE is technically just like any other FUE system that simply uses a different kind of tool. For clients who are allergic to nickel, steel, or other metals, however, the sapphire blades may be a better option to prevent the possibility of any allergic reaction.

Why choose the Sapphire FUE System?

  • null
    Microchannels

As the blade is both harder and sharper than steel, it creates microchannels. The trauma may arguably be greater, however, as sapphire blades are nearly twice the thickness of steel cut blades.

  • null
    Tumescence

Doctors will take the same precaution of injecting tumescence, a saline solution, to improve the density of cuts even when using a sapphire blade.

  • null
    Depth Management

Depth management is about skill, not blades. Similar to other tools, the clinician can control how deep or shallow the blade will go within the scalp of the client.

  • null
    Sharpness

Sapphire blades are sharper than steel blades and take longer to dull compared to their counterparts as well.
